I studied Visual Arts in my country El Salvador in the years1977/79. I've been passionate about all kinds of arts and I was always looking forward to become an artist. In the years between 1970 and 1980 El Salvador was going through very hard political and social changes, so the country was in what we can call turmoil.
At that time the social changes that was affecting the country, many situations contribute to my decision to leave my lovely country El Salvador.
I decided that it was the time for me and my wife to seek for new opportunities away from all this nonsense chaos so we moved to Costa Rica, a beautiful country neighbouring Nicaragua and Panama.
We lived in Costa Rica for almost 3 years and it was at that time that I gained the opportunity to further develop myself as an artist so I began to create paintings and sale them in the marketplace.
I also had the opportunity to meet a very talented artist form El Salvador named Antonio Mejia residing in Costa Rica and married to a Costarriqueña lady name Mayela. He became a very good friend and a mentor.
We moved to Canada in March of 1983, along with my wife and my 2 1/2 year old daughter Jessica. Knowing very little English at that time, my wife and I went to study English As a Second Language (ESL) at Mohawk College located at that time at Kenilworth Ave in Hamilton (Today that location doesn't exist). Many good things happened there but one event that make me feel good was that I had the opportunity to paint a mural in the gym of the school.
In 1984/85 I had the opportunity to present my art to different Art Galleries in Hamilton seeking new opportunities. As life continue on in this beautiful country and trying to accommodate to all these changes and the climate, my art slowly began to drift into a time of silence...
Today it is a pleasure to me to present to you my Personal Art Collection, these painting are not currently for sale because my whole intention is only to show who I am and what my really passion is all about. If there are any mistakes in the way I express myself in this introduction I hope you will understand that English is still my second language.
